3 Design Finds from the Kitchen + Bathroom Expo That Will Elevate Your Next Build
What Caught My Eye at the KBDi Expo This Year
Each year, I make it a priority to attend key industry events like the KBDi Trade Expo not just for inspiration, but to bring fresh ideas and innovative materials back to my clients.
Because when you’re building or renovating, it’s not just about “what’s trending.” It’s about finding pieces that feel right for your space both aesthetically and functionally.
This year’s expo was full of beautiful, clever design solutions. But three products in particular stood out—because I could instantly picture them elevating real homes in timeless, thoughtful ways.
1. Laminex – Woodgrains Collection
There’s something about woodgrain textures that instantly softens a space. Laminex’s latest Woodgrains range nails that balance between grounded, organic warmth and modern finish.
I’m especially loving the soft oak tones for cabinetry and the darker options for feature joinery. They bring that “custom feel” without overpowering a room perfect for kitchens, laundry spaces, and even wardrobes.
2. Studio Porcelain – Laminam Surfaces
Laminam surfaces are ultra-durable, beautifully refined porcelain slabs and they made a big impression this year.
I was drawn to their large-format, seamless look, which is ideal for creating clean benchtops, full-height splashbacks, or even feature walls in bathrooms. The texture and tone range is incredibly versatile—from soft neutrals to bolder stone-inspired finishes.
If you’re wanting that high-end feel with long-term practicality, this is one worth considering.
3. Nero Tapware – Serenity Collection
Elegant without being showy, the Serenity Collection from Nero Tapware blends soft curves with luxe materials like marble and matte finishes.
It’s the kind of tapware that becomes a feature in your kitchen or bathroom especially in powder rooms or ensuites where you want a little more wow factor. Timeless, minimal, but with real presence.
What This Means for You
Discoveries like these are why I love going to expos. They allow me to curate more elevated options for my clients without sending you down a Pinterest rabbit hole.
You won’t need to second-guess whether something is “on trend” or if it will last. I’m always on the lookout for materials and finishes that deliver on design and functionality, so you can create a home that feels considered from day one.
